Marnell Sponsors Third River Cleanup
LAS VEGAS, Nevada and LAUGHLIN, Nevada (May 3, 2018) – On May 12, Colorado Belle and Edgewater Casino Resorts along with local river clean-up organizers sponsored by American Rivers, (coordinated by Carol Wheeler and Vic Szilard) will launch the third of three planned river cleanups preceding this summer’s Laughlin River Regatta and hosted by Marnell Gaming, LLC. The approximate four and a half-hour cleanup will begin with check-in at 7:00 am at Community Park in Bullhead City under the large pavilion. At 8:00 am the clean-up will begin. This cleanup will cover several different areas spanning over 29 nautical miles of the river from Topock to the Laughlin Bridge. The cleanup is one element of Marnell Gaming’s commitment to devote significant resources to the cleanup and beautification of the Colorado River in the Bullhead City/Laughlin area and will be made in conjunction with three River Cleanup Event Sponsors—American Rivers, Nathan Michaels of River Passage Water Taxi, and ACE Hardware. “The Colorado Belle and Edgewater team is driven to make a meaningful impact while reviving a significant tourism event that benefits our local community in many ways,” said Colorado Belle and Edgewater SVP & General Manager Ryan C. Walker. “We are dedicated to being a responsible community partner and fostering a culture of service that benefits where we live. Marnell Gaming is proud to be an involved partner in the community and is committed to hosting a ‘Safe, Fun & Clean Regatta’.”
LOCAL SERVICE CLUBS TO ASSIST
Nine local non-profit organizations in collaboration with sponsors have been invited to assist in the third and largest planned cleanup thus far. Each invited group is a non-profit club or organization guaranteeing a minimum of 20 active participants in the clean-up. The groups are Mohave High School Interact Club, Tri-State Military Moms, We Care for Animals, Bullhead City Firebird Football & Cheer, Bullhead City Boy Scouts Troop #104, Mohave High School Swim Team, Colorado River Historical Society & Museum, Praise Chapel, and the River Fund. In addition, participation by community volunteers and volunteers from Laughlin casino properties is encouraged and anticipated. “Our goal is to engage the community to raise awareness and help improve the condition of our river. Civic investment is a mainstay in the longevity of a community and we are thrilled to have our local community participate, take pride in where they live and fortify the foundation for future years,” Walker said. In recognition of the hard work and dedication to the community, Marnell Gaming will donate $1,000 to each of the ten participating non-profit clubs or organizations. This river cleanup is open to the community and all volunteers are welcome to sign-up on behalf of any of the nine participating non-
profit groups. “Due to the overwhelming response from our last two clean-ups, we are opening this clean-up to all volunteers who sign a waiver and pick one of the nine nonprofit groups to participate with. This is an amazing opportunity for these groups to come out, have fun, do a great thing for our community and earn much needed money for their local non-profit club, team or organization,” said Ed Catalfamo, Events Manager for the Colorado Belle and Edgewater Casino Resorts. To volunteer for this clean up, or have your non-profit club, group, team or organization be considered for future cleanups please email Ed Catalfamo at ecatalfamo@marnellgaming.com.
