Come Celebrate Public Lands Day in Laughlin
The Laughlin Chamber of Commerce and it’s Volunteers In Partnership (VIPS) will be in attendance this Saturday, September 22nd, in support of Public Lands Day, and to honor the lives of those who lost their battle with cancer and those who are still fighting.

In late 2016, the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce lost their Executive Director, Connie Davis to a long battle with Cancer. Shortly thereafter, their annual cancer walk was renamed, The Connie Davis 5k Walk & Roll for Cancer. During this event, participants were invited to paint a small river rock in honor of someone who has or is battling the disease; with the understanding that each rock would have a place in the future memorial. The “Tree of Hope & Life” memorial will lay on the East side of Pyramid Canyon – Heritage Greenway Park & Trails in honor of Connie Davis and all those who have suffered this terrible illness.

Don't miss the “Tree of Hope & Life” - Painted Rock Garden Commencement Ceremony!
“Participants of the 2017 and 2018 Connie Davis 5K Walk & Roll for Cancer have created over 500 rocks to be placed at the Heritage Greenway Park & Trails on this Public Lands Day, September 22, 2018; in honor of those lost and those still battling cancer. Heritage Greenway Park & Trails is the site of this Annual event every March." said Jackie Mazzeo, Executive Director, Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. “If you missed the cancer walk back in March now is your chance to paint a rock to be placed at the memorial rock garden. This event is free and open to the public!” Mazzeo added. The commencement ceremony will begin at 11:00a.m. If you have already painted a rock and cannot make it to the ceremony, the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce will place your rock with love on your behalf.
