Job Description


SECURITY OFFICER   
                                                                                               

Ensures the safety of guest and employees. Protects the security and safety of company assets.   Projects a helpful, friendly and cordial attitude with customers. Conducts oneself in a professional and efficient manner at all times.  High school graduate or equivalent required.   Excellent internal and external customer service skills.   Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.  Must have clean current three-year DMV record. Well-groomed and professional appearance.  Must be able to receive and maintain all certifications in First-Aid, AED, CPR, and Competency.  Must have basic computer skills. Requires Gaming Registration and TAM/AES cards and must provide valid Driver’s License and proof of Auto Insurance.  Minimum age requirement is 21.
 
 
PORTER                                                                                                  
 
Performs general cleaning duties in all public areas, maintaining standards of excellence throughout the hotel and casino.  Sweeps, vacuums, mops, washes and cleans all debris from floor.  Picks up trash in all areas and places in central receptacle.  Wipes out ashtrays and replaces any missing.  Cleans slot machines, carousels, stools, gaming tables and chairs.  Signs in and out for keys, radio and equipment on a daily basis.  Practices positive customer relations.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.  Six (6) months professional housekeeping or related work experience.  Minimum age requirement is 21.
 
 
GUEST ROOM ATTENDANT                                                         

Prepares guest rooms by changing linens and other items as needed. Cleans bathrooms, tubs, walls, floors, toilets, vanities, mirrors, fixtures, removes trash and replenishes amenities. Cleans living area: dusting furniture, cleaning doors and mirrors, and vacuuming.  Maintains information on maid sheet.  Inputs room status in telephone system. Signs in/out with floor supervisor and accepts master keys. Responsible for keeping maid carts clean and stocked daily. Ensures all Lost & Found items are turned over to supervisor. Transports cart to and from work station. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested. No experience necessary. Must speak and understand English. Minimum age requirement is 18.
 
 
VALET  
                                                                                       
  
Park and retrieve guest vehicles, write claim tickets, work Valet desk; extensive customer contact.  Ability to work well with the public; promote optimum customer service.  Valet experience helpful. Must have an excellent driving record, TAM /AES, and valid Driver’s License.  Minimum age requirement is 18.
 
 
GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE                                                              
 
Assists customers in booking reservations at the hotel. Provides information about the hotel and the Laughlin area. Answers telephones and books guest reservations. Minimum age requirement is 18.
 
 
 
TABLE GAMES DEALER                                                       
 
To deal the game assigned in accordance with the procedures outlined in the GNL games procedure manual.  Maintain a courteous attitude and pleasant demeanor in all relations with both customers and fellow employees.  Maintain level of skill necessary for efficient job performance.  Readily respond to directions and instructions of the supervisory personnel.  Insure proper documentation of any presented pit paperwork (fills, markers, etc.) Requires Gaming Registration.   Minimum age requirement is 21.
 
 
 
 
EDR COOK                                                                                    
 
To prepare food items according to the outlet’s menu and recipe standards and customer request.  To assure preparation and service is of the highest quality in a timely manner.  Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines.  Adhere to policies and procedures and Health regulations.  Work rapidly and accurately.  Pay particular attention to detail.  Use proper food handling techniques when preparing food.  Operate kitchen equipment located in the outlet.  Knowledge of menu items and recipes for each assigned station.  Properly stock assigned work station.  Maintain a clean and organized work area.  Notify Sous Chef of any needed supplies.  Notify Sous Chef of any problems that arise.  Assist with maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment.  Turnover/takeover station according to established procedures.  Complete special projects as requested by Food and Beverage Management.  Requires Health Card. Minimum age requirement is 18.
 
 
DELI ATTENDANT                                                                                
 
Maintain uniform appearance according to established guidelines. Adhere to all policies, procedures and health department regulations. Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner to take orders for food and beverage items. Use suggestive selling techniques. Know all menu items and prepare orders to Deli standards and serve them to the guest in a timely manner. Thank the guests for their patronage and invite them back to the outlet for future visits. Keep work area stocked with needed supplies.  Keep work area neat, clean and organized. Fill Deli display case as needed. Prepare all food and beverage ingredient products as needed, as dictated by the daily prep log. Clean equipment daily and as needed. Maintain a neat, clean and safe working environment; clean counters and floors and empty trash. Maintain a neat, clean and safe dining area; clean tables, sweep floors and empty trash. Complete all assigned side work, as dictated by the daily task log. Follow Food and Beverage standards for stocking, rotating and storing of all products. Accurately input food and beverage orders into the ALOHA system. Follow cash handling procedures and cash register policies. Settle checks according to established procedures. Properly obtain, reconcile and return cash bank at the beginning and end of shift. Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services available to our guests. Relay all guest compliments or complaints to the Manager or Supervisor on duty. Requires Health Card. Minimum Age requirement is 18.
 
 
 
SOUS CHEF                                                                                                     
 
Minimum three years Sous Chef experience in a high volume operation.  Requires the
ability to effectively supervise employees, oversee all food outlets and work varied shifts.  Must have solid planning, time management, decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations. Ensures excellence in Guest satisfaction through effective training of Staff. Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card. BAR BACK                                                                                             
 
 Completes all set up and stocking of Liquor supplies, glasses and ice in a timely manner according to Golden Nugget Bar Standards and Procedures. Fill out required paperwork, bar transfers (liquor) and dry stock deliveries (Napkins, Towels, Straws, etc.). Deliver ice to bars, as needed.  Fill Beer orders from main cooler and also change empty Beer Kegs, as needed. Change Soda boxes at various pump rooms and bars. Requires Non-Gaming Card, Health Card and Alcohol Awareness Card. Minimum age requirement is 21.
 

SLOT FLOORPERSON                                                               
 
Good public relations skills; basic computer knowledge helpful; knowledge of equipment and Golden Nugget slot paperwork and procedures; basic knowledge of IRS and gaming regulations helpful. Keno knowledge/training required. Requires Gaming Registration. Minimum age requirement is 21.
 
 
WAREHOUSE LEAD CLERK                                                             
 
 
Prior experience in receiving or warehouse. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Maintain delivery records and verify quantities. Must be able to track inventory. Must be able to operate a forklift and two-way radio. Basic computer skills needed. Inventory product and create orders based on demand. Supervise personnel and document personnel performance. Deliver product to various property locations. Input receiving information into the computer system and update and/or close purchase orders. Requires a valid Driver’s License. Minimum age requirement is 18.
 
 
ENGINEERING SHIFT SUPERVISOR                                                          
 
 
It is the responsibility of the Facilities Shift Supervisor to oversee all functions and duties of the Engineering Department on assigned shift. Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills are necessary. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results. Computer literate in Microsoft Windows and Excel applications required. Silverlight and Facility Management and Construction Management experience a plus. Must be able to read blue prints. Requires a valid Driver’s License. Minimum age requirement is 18.
  
 
ENGINEER                                                                                   
 
Knowledge of the following: Demolition and new construction. Plywood, particle board, hardwood, laminate, plastic, moldings, adhesives, drywall, and metal studs. Power Tools - Table saw, band saw, belt sanders, routers, drill press, orbital sander, rotating laser level for example. Understand how to repair/maintain tools of the trade is also required. Lay out and install building framing on doors and windows. Mortise door lockset for wood and steel. Door closure installation. Sub floor, flooring, crown molding, chair rail, base boards, and ship lap. Ability to use the following equipment safely and properly: Scissor lift, boom lift 30ft to 100ft, metal scaffolding (fixed and rolling), and ladders 2ft to 32ft. Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. frequently and push carts weighing up to 400 lbs. Requires a valid Driver’s License. Minimum age requirement is 18.
