Saturday, August 12th 9 am -2 pm: Virtual Dementia Tour® This opportunity is being offered to anyone interested in gaining a greater understanding of the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. This is not an experience for individuals who have, or suspect they have the disease. Individuals are invited to participate in a sensitivity training session offered at 2995 Desert Sky Boulevard in Bullhead City. Joshua Springs Senior Living with the partnered efforts of the Colorado River Women’s Council will be hosting the Virtual Dementia Tour®. The Virtual Dementia Tour is the original and groundbreaking, evidence-based and scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction based on research conducted by P.K. Beville, M.S., a specialist in geriatrics and the founder of Second Wind Dreams®. During a Virtual Dementia Tour experience, trained facilitators guide participants through common everyday tasks and exercises while outfitted with patented devices that alter their senses. The Tour enables individuals to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face, then use the experience to provide better person-centered care.
